About Elna Caravias

Elna Caravias is a founding partner of Shark Divers, a trusted shark cage diving service based in Gansbaai - the Great White Shark Capital of the World - with a 4.8 Google review rating. With roots in the Gansbaai shark diving industry stretching back to 2000 and over 40 years living in Gansbaai, Elna knows these tours from the inside out - regularly joining trips on the water herself. She has cage dived at multiple shark diving destinations across South Africa and has coordinated bookings for day-trippers, adventure seekers, adrenaline junkies, nature lovers, and even celebrity guests and international documentary film crews. Her shark passion began in her late teens, spending a few unforgettable days on a small boat in Shark Alley alongside a researcher conducting his thesis on great white sharks. Brief as it was, that experience lit a fire that never went out. It deepened further through 15 years married to an underwater shark photographer. A PADI Advanced Scuba Diver and lifelong shark documentary enthusiast, Elna writes from decades of genuine immersion in the world's premier shark diving destination.
